Do keep in mind (especially for the newbies  ) that your web hosting  account should be easy to setup, use and configure in that the cPanel and the GUI should be easy to understand and apply.  It would also help  you in having a good support team that is responsive and will answer any and all of your queries and be approachable to you via various options like telephone, chat, email, etc. Please do not think you will never need their services – I consider myself experienced and yet even I have  needed to check with  support for technical assistance from time to time, so it goes without saying that you do need good customer service and technical support staff.

Some extra features to consider are hosting many  or unlimited domains, multiple FTP users, email autoresponders, etc. to start  with because these are the absolute essentials that you will need when doing business online. Also, make sure you are dealing with an established market player with a good reputation in the industry.
